Overview

Farm Stay USA | 4-Star AccreditationLinden Lane Permaculture is a suburban organic farm-garden on .74 acres near the downtown harbor of Camden, Maine. We are dedicated to re-wilding and creating a native habitat for all the components of a natural ecosystem, and building and sustaining their web of relationships.

We are re-wilding our suburban lot for diversity, growing trees, bushes, and plants that yield food for insects, birds, plants, and animals — including humans — on land that would traditionally be lawn or decorative landscaping, and would love to share with you how to re-wild your own yard or suburban lot. Learn how to replace your lawn with a beautiful meadow, the benefits and steps to no-till organic gardening and composting, bioswales, and how a small greenhouse in New England can produce delicious greens all winter long. Guests are welcome to help out with our daily chores which include weeding, planting and harvesting at appropriate times, composting, pruning, or mulching.

During your stay you can relax in the forest shade garden, walk through the meadows, explore the large vegetable garden and orchards, and see what we grow in our greenhouse. Our small pond is home to a variety of insects, frogs, salamanders, and the occasional wild duck or two. Listen to the croaking frogs from your window at night.

We are 5-minute walk to the village of Camden. Walk along the bustling harbor, visit the local shops and seasonal farmer’s market, or dine in one of the many wonderful restaurants or cafes nearby. Spend the day exploring Maine’s beautiful lighthouses or charter a sailing tour in the harbor.

Guests can stay in a detached studio apartment with queen-size convertible sofa, full bath, kitchenette, with lovely views of the gardens and woods.
