Overview
We love to host families with children who are looking for a vacation in a rural setting on a small farm. Each morning we begin our day with milking the goats, making cheese, checking the troughs, and watering the gardens. Spring the pens are full of baby goats. You can choose to join us in the farm activities or relax.
Just as well, our farm is lovely for the romantic couple, coming to create or rejuvenate. Relaxing is a big sport here, on the spacious decks overlooking the ocean. The main part of this cabin style house is a charming combined kitchen living, with a sunny reading nook, a hidden loft space, and a master bedroom overlooking the view of the ocean. The second bedroom, in a Studio, is a few paces across the deck for complete privacy, great composing space, and more great views.
We are just a 5 minute drive from Pheiffer Beach, or a 15 minute walk to the delicious Big Sur Bakery, (after milking of course), and the Cultural Center of Big Sur, Loma Vista, where you can find a great bakery, a beer bar, and wonderful shops of local crafts.
Our farm is a haven for wildlife and livestock including goats, sheep, horses, cattle, sheep dogs, deer, bobcats,fox, and condors. We have been making goat cheese for 26 years. By reservation you can sign up for a goat cheese making workshop. Priced at $50 for adultsand $25 for children.
Above is the description of our Honeyspinner’s Cottage, but we also have a larger house(5000sq ft) which we would like to rent out for 6 Months to ONE YEAR of living here on the farm, to a family who would like to move to the country for a life changing year. Email us for specific pricing and dates on this larger house.
