When one thinks of agriculture for Nevada, the primary driver are cow-calf operations and range livestock production. The northern part of the state have the larger cattle and sheep ranches.

Because of irrigation, the state is also known as a top producer of alfalfa hay, sold not only locally and to surrounding states but exported abroad.

Most of the Nevada farm stays are actually ranching operations with wide-open vistas and horseback riding.
