Colorado, identified as part of the Mountain West, is geographically divided north-south by the southern portion of the Rocky Mountains and, starting at the foothills of the mountains going east, stretches out to the western edge of the Great Plains.
The state relies on defense, mining, forestry, agriculture and tourism for much of its economy, although climate change is increasing temperatures and decreasing water availability, putting much of this as risk. Current agricultural products are cattle, wheat, corn, hay and dairy.
Whether along the front range or in the middle of the Rockies, try one of these Colorado farm stays for your next adventure in the west.
