Lucky Goat Family Farm
Big Sur, California 93920
Goats, views and fiddles. Fun!
Overview
We love to host families, especially with children who are looking for a rural setting on a small farm. We believe in a sustainable living model and share our knowledge through chores and teaching.
Each morning we begin our day with milking the goats, making cheese, checking the troughs, and watering the gardens and orchard. In Spring the pens are full of baby goats. You can choose which farm activities to join us in.
Besides the active rhythm of the farm, relaxing, reading or writing are big sports here on the spacious deck overlooking the ocean. The main part of this cabin style house is a charming combined kitchen living, with a sunny reading nook, a hidden loft space, and a master bedroom overlooking the view of the ocean. The second bedroom, is a Studio, a few paces across the deck for complete privacy, and has a piano, a great composing space, and more great views.
We are just a 10 minute drive from Pfeiffer Beach, or a 20 minute walk to the delicious the Pub, (after chores of course), and the Cultural Center of Big Sur, where you can find a deli, market, and wonderful shops of local crafts.
Our farm is a haven for wildlife and livestock including goats, sheep, cattle, dogs, deer, bobcats, fox, and condors. We have been making goat cheese for 30+ years.
Above is the description of our Honeyspinner’s Cottage, but we also have a larger house(5000sq ft) which we would like to rent out for 6 Months to ONE YEAR of living here on the farm, to a family who would like to move to the country for a life changing year. Email us for specific pricing and dates on this larger house.
