Georgia, in the southeastern U.S., is the top producer of pecans in the country. Also known for its production of blueberries, peanuts (thank you, former President Carter), soybean and corn, the state has a diversity of landscapes, flora and fauna. In the north, one can find the Blue Ridge Mountains (the southern most part of the Appalachian range), while starting at the foothills the Piedmont plateau extends south to coastal plains. From white tailed deer to alligators, the state has it all!
Visiting farms in Georgia may take you to large, multi-generational holdings that have transformed the rural communities they are in to farms in or right outside of Atlanta.
All have something to share. Check out these great Georgia Farm Stays! You may even come back with a southern accent…if you don’t already have one.
