Northwest
All the states in the Northwest region, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington, have one thing in common – Pacific Ocean coastlines. Often with forests that dip right down to the beach, these three states offer a hugely diverse landscape the farther east you go- from coastal rain forests in the west to high plains and large volcanic mountain ranges.
This makes for equally diverse farm, ranch, and vineyard experiences depending on where you are in each state. Most of our Alaska farms are coastal and seasonal (for good reason!). In the lower 48, fish for salmon in the winter and pick blueberries in the summer.
The Pacific region boasts a number of orchards, vineyards and wine touring — either on-site or nearby — and plenty of outdoor recreation, riding, even riding and wine touring at the same time! Farmers and ranchers share the states equally so all you need to do is decide what kind of landscape intrigues you.
