Overview
The Bar K is a cattle and goat ranch covering almost 4,000 acres of the rugged Trans-Pecos area of West Texas. We raise Angus and Texas Longhorn cattle and Spanish meat goats, and you'll see them all over the ranch. The river canyon pasture includes about 1,000 acres of canyons, draws, oak forest, mesquite thickets, and high ridges, perfect for outdoor recreation: hiking, mountain biking, wildlife photography, birding, drone flying, etc. You'll have easy, private access to the river for fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc. Enjoy the two miles on the ranch or take a day and paddle to the pullout at the Pandale crossing (we can help arrange shuttle service if needed).
The cotttage is perched on a bluff above the iconic Pecos River. It is fully furnished and has a riverfront deck, two bedrooms, a sleeper sofa in the living room, a kitchen, and a full bath. There is no better place than the deck for a cup of coffee or an evening happy hour. Guests have shared mornings with deer, turkeys, ducks, foxes, and (once) even a mountain lion prowling the river bank. Visits are self-catered, but we can help arrange for a local ranch cook for a few nights if you'd prefer to relax after a day on the river.
