Fulbright Farmstead

This property originally started with sheep. There are neighbor stories about stopping by the house to check on the original owners after a bad storm and finding lambing jugs setup all over the kitchen with newborn lambs everywhere. Sari and Jayce, as new owners in 2013, felt that the property needed to have sheep again. They also brought a milk cow with them. Currently the farm raises cows for beef and milk and sheep for meat, milk and wool. There are chickens, gardens, the resident pony, barn cats and two dogs.

For a truly unique Montana experience, join the Fulbrights out on the prairie. Hosting is offered in an authentic sheep wagon which is moved around depending on what pasture the cows and sheep are in as well as the new bunkhouse custom-built and outfitted like the 1950s. The farmstead is situated on 80 open acres with beautiful big sky views in daytime and dark skies at night. The hope is that guests can come relax and enjoy the property – as well as learn more about the self-reliant homestead lifestyle.

In addition, Jayce is a blacksmith and has a forge on property. Guests are welcome to take a look at his blacksmithing shop and examples of his work are all around. He also plays the fiddle.

If you are someone that needs something more to do than just relax, there is plenty to help with around the farm. You may explore the property and join in milking the sheep and cows in the morning.

Nearby, Ackley Lake is less than four miles away and offers fishing, boating, swimming, bird watching, picnicking, and camping. If you like to fish the lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout and Tiger Muskie. Crystal Lake is another Central Montana treasure located about 35 miles away. If you have kids that love dinosaurs, Harlowton has a museum about 40 miles away.
