Overview
Charming working livestock farm located in a lush, quiet valley in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains in central New York State. Experience a working farm and stay in the Farmhouse Suite or Farmhand Cabin. Combine your stay with private meals prepared in the farm’s commercial kitchen and delivered to the suite or cabin or served in the farmhouse dining room. Participate in tours, workshops and food and farm events. Grass-fed lamb, goat, pork, beef, poultry, rabbits and eggs and meat products are sold at farmers markets and by appointment on the farm.
Guests may opt to participate in a guided tour of the farm and lend a hand with farm chores. Tour and Chores is 1 to 1½ hour program. Farm chores, depending on the season, may include collecting eggs, bottle feeding kid goats, feeding and watering chickens, rabbits and pigs, moving the sheep or dairy goats with the border collies or milking a goat. Tour and Chores is $75 per family (up to 4 persons). Farmer for a Day is a half day intensive farm program for $350 for four persons. See the website for Field and Kitchen workshops.
The Farmhouse Suite is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and floor futons are available for children in the adjoining suite. The Farmhand Cabin is suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. The one-room cabin has two wide single beds and mats for small children on the floor. You can pitch a tent but no more than six persons are permitted in the cabin and tent. The $138 fee includes two persons; there is a $10 additional charge per additional person.

The Farmhouse Suite
Guests enjoy the first-floor suite in the 1863 Greek Revival farmhouse or the Farmhand Cabin. The suite has a private entrance and backyard and includes a bedroom with a queen size bed, private bath and library, refrigerator, microwave oven and coffee station. Roll-out single beds can be set up in the attached library to accommodate 2 other persons.
Private suite with private entrance and backyard in the farmhouse. Features a total of 1 private room and 1 library. Queen bed in the bedroom. Two single size futons and bedding can be provided in the library attached to the bedroom. There is a door between the bedroom and library. 2 night minimum.

guestThe Farmhand Cabin
The Farmhand Cabin is located a short distance from the farmhouse overlooking Kortright Creek. The Cabin accommodates up to two adults and two small children. To accommodate additional persons (no more than four), you may bring a tent or a tent is provided for a fee. The Cabin is open May to the end of October, depending on the weather.
There are two single beds which double as a sitting area. Two bedrolls accommodate young children on the floor or you can pitch a tent (up to four persons) 2 night minimum.

Farm Tour
Experience a working grass-fed livestock farm. Visit sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and horses. Collect eggs. Hold chicks. Bottle feed lambs. Cuddle kid goats. Milk a goat. Groom horses. See the border collies work. Activities vary with the weather/season.
Farm to Table Dining
Enjoy meals prepared with the best of the farm's meat, eggs, dairy and produce. Grazing boards. Breakfast bags. Three or Five Course dinners. Picnic Lunches.
Cooking school
Field and Kitchen Boot Camp – Learn about harvesting and cooking farm-fresh seasonal foods. The day begins with a farm tour to learn how our food is raised. Enjoy a farm-fresh lunch which together we plan and prep. Includes foraging, harvesting vegetables and herbs from the kitchen gardens and butchering.
Workshops
Poultry and/or Rabbit Butchering: The experience includes intensive hands-on learning about raising chickens or ducks on pasture, slaughtering chickens en plein air and preparing a whole chicken or duck. Learn how to raise rabbits on pasture. Learn how to raise, slaughter and prepare rabbits for stewing, braising, sautéing and grilling.
Cooking school
Cost: $100 person 2 pm – Sausage Making - Learn the authentic style of sausage making with Stone & Thistle Farm’s grass-fed meats. You make and bring home pork or beef sausage. Sausage tastings included
Wine/Beer/Cider Tasting
Table Top Tour of Regional Wine and Cheese - Explore local and New York region wine and cheese by discovering their history, production and best of all their taste. Pâté, chutney and fruit served to accompany wine and cheese.
